Wholesale Pure Rose Geranium Essential Oil

100% pure Rose Geranium oil, steam distilled from tops and flowers of plants wildgrown in Albania. This is the 'odorantissimum' variety described in 'Advanced Aromatherapy' for its broad range of effects. It has a brilliant aroma with wonderful floral 'rosey' notes. This Rose Geranium Oil is available from sample size up to 1 kg or more.

ABOUT THE OIL

There are in fact two species of Pelargonium distilled to essential oil - this 'odorantissium' produces Rose Geranium oil, high in geraniol with a more rose-like aroma. The 'graveolens' species produces an oil with a higher citronellol content, with a correspondingly citrus-like aroma. This essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves and flowers of wild grown Rose Geranium plants grown in Albania.

Aromatherapy Notes

This Rose Geranium has a light, honeyed top note, complex floral middle notes entwined with deeply sweet and slightly cinnamon-spiced undertones.

Traditional Uses

Geraniums originated in South Africa and were brought to Europe in the 17th century. The oil has been used as a general tonic, brightener for the mind, perfume and skin care agent. Many varieties of geranium have been hybridized as the geranium plant can be bred to produce a wide variety of different aromas, many mimicking the scent of other aromatic plants. Rose geranium is one of these hybrids, bred specifically to imitate the smell of rose.
