CO2 extracts are sometimes a total extraction or fractioned select extraction. The select extraction technique is utilized to target specific chemical constituents of a given plant material. Different fractions are sometimes pooled together to highlight the important compounds of a plant while leaving the non-therapeutic compounds behind. The aroma can vary greatly in the technique as well, because the monoterpene or more volatile range of the plant may not be included in the final fractionated portion during extraction.
These oils in general have much heavier chemical compounds and therefore our testing methodology is less refined compared to absolutes and steam distilled oils. With that said we have tested all of the CO2 extracts that are within the given boiling point restraints of our instrument (GC/MS). We have the certificates of analysis for these extracts, but the seeds and roots often cannot be tested chemically so just the physical properties are listed.
